I love live recordings better...when the band sings the song. I hate when they do the big crowd participation part of the show and they sing half the fuckin song. This sounds great to me! I like how they speed it up a touch to when any band plays live. They make it a little more lively...no pun intended! lol

Why can't fans appreciate both a clean studio cd and a more raw, live performance? Why should they sound the same? Yeah, the cd sounds cool because they dubbed the vocals in a sound proof booth, wearing headphones, using mics and equipment that cost a fortune. So what? What's wrong with hearing a guys voice strain a little in concert, because the crowd is cheering loud and he's been singing his lungs out, on tour for 6 months? I like the raw energy of a live show. You want perfect? Buy the cd

Yeah, sometimes I get annoyed, when I read comments, complaining that in concert, an artisit doesn't sound like their cds. What would you do if you had tons of expensive studio equipment to play with? You might make songs that you can't reproduce well in concert. Choices: 1.Stripped down studio sound, easy to play in concert. 2.Record what you want, then strip down the live show. 3. Exact reproductions and go broke touring with truckloads of equipment, backup singers and a full orchestra.

when you sing live to a large crowd you cant always hear your own voice. you must trust your vocals and i agree this is a great song and performance. the studio can make anyone sound good just ask most of todays artists who are very poor live !

Don't forget other factors. Long tours, wear down voices. Sometimes the crowd noise and the power of the sound system, makes it hard to hear subtle things in one's voice. Singers tend to over sing and get a little raspy sometimes or they are feeding off the crowd energy. Maybe, they wanted the song to sound different from the way they played a million times before. This is a rock band, maybe this is the way it sounded, before they made it radio friendly in the studio. I think it sounds great!

When will casual listeners ever get the concept of a live performance? Especially an outdoor performance. Live performances rarely ever equal the perfection and clarity of a studio album. So many things can be done in a studio. Acoustics, different mics, PAs, amps, mixing boards, overdubbing, retakes, editing, sound effects, orchestration. The equipment, volume, environment, crowd and the band's energy, sometimes create a more raw, distorted, live recording than the human ear hears at a concert.

I even hear kids and teenagers agree with you on that. It isn't just a case of old folgyness. I talked to some kids who told me all they listen to is 70's and 80's because todays music sucks. So a lot of people agree with you on that.
