Steve Earle like many folk singers spreads peace love and harmony to all people in this world. I love this song. It's one of the best I've heard him do in his carrer.

You're missing it frog. Steve's never been about rock, country, blues, folk or even blue grass... he's always written what he sees, hears and lives! It's called the TRUTH and that's why he's a legend on another level from most. He's not as mainstream as Willie Nelson or Bob Dylan because he's even more truthful and hard than they were.

Is that a Bozouki he's playing? It sounds like a baritone mandolin -if such a thing exists.
