AK-47 was #2 in that Discover show mainly was due to its popular worldwide use, simplicity and reliability. But when my life is depending on my rifle, I'd rather have an M-16.

Actually the 5.45mm 5N7 projectile will yaw violently upon impact with human flesh. It will not go right through,it WILL discharge most of its energy into the vital organs,yaw and exit in a random direction. Its unique design negates fragmentation in exchange for near 100% yaw and energy discharge capability.Trade off is this round keyholes and bleeds energy fast when hitting building materials while 5.56mm will cut through and still pierce armor and bodies hiding behind said walls.

Ak does more damage and more realiable bust less accurate . it was the number 2 on top 10 guns of all time

G3 Full auto or Krinkov is best guns for Battle..thats my opinion---I was policemen Krinkov..5.45x39mm full auto my choice!

"the 5.56x45mm will cause massive and mostly irrepearable damage."WRONG!!!the 5,45x39 has hollow point bullet(the 5,56x45 hasn't). it wobbles when hit a men. (type in the google: 5,45x39 mm cut or just saw it in the wikipedia) the mujahedin call it "magician"but the 5.56x45 dont cause massive damage because M-16A2/A3/A4/M-4/A1's barrel rifling is changed: 1/12 to 1/7.so! it has higher spin speed-->the bullet dont wobble if hit a men.

an ak may beat the m16 in reliability. but what the hell does 'a stronger bullet' mean? The 5.45x39mm round is actually smaller in diameter than the US 5.56x45(.223rem) thus if the 5.45 has a bullet of the same weight or hinger, it will have a better ballistic coeficient and will penetrate much better. However when it hits a soldier it tends to go right through causing little damage, where the 5.56x45mm will cause massive and mostly irrepearable damage.
