Not really. We banned marijuana and lots of other drugs, and you can still find them at our schools. And criminals don't buy their guns legally because it's already hard for anyone with a criminal record to get a gun legally, that is why they buy them off the black market (which is not regulated by the law, so the ban will only make more criminals rich by increasing their customers. If you have money you can get a gun.

Also, in the U.S total crime(violent, murder, robbery) fell by 41.6% since 1991 from RTC, and the 40 RTC states fell by about 26% on average. Not to mention there's 70-80 million(estimated) gun owners in the U.S., who own more than 250 million. You can't get rid of guns, period.

good point. no matter how hard our world strives for peace there will always be evil hearted people seeking to destroy good hearted people. so lets not take guns away from the good cuz no matter how many laws our government passes the criminals will always carry there unregistered illegal fire leaving the good defenseless.
