I feel fractals represent our universe, and thats why we find them so interesting.Apparently they are produced with a fairly simply mathematical equation.This in turn is the main goal of science today in understanding our universe, and to finding this equation, the so called "theory of everything".

I thought that was just changing the colors for various depths not actually zooming the fractal but I could be wrong.

cool isnt there a name for points on fractals where if you zoom in you get the same picture roatated?

I no longer have that raw fractal on my com. My guess is that there were mandels in other areas of the larger image (as you can see at the top of the zoom, the image opens up above this area), but this area of the solution just spiraled. Even the small spirals in the arms here are replicants of the zoom.
