The vietcong are well dug in, the south vietnamese are so exposed in the center of the bridge, nowhere to hide but through bridge rail and armored tank. In a situation like this, either you charge all the way and maybe face lots of deaths or you retreat fully, you don't linger in a well expose bridge.

This wasn't during the Tet offensive. It was during the fall of Saigon. That's why there weren't American forces... it was 3 years after America left Vietnam. The only American soldiers still stationed in Vietnam were protecting the US embassy.

Maybe you were right but also most of them took other jobs like an example taxi drivers,cooks etc and they live a stable life.

The NVA and VC fought this war because they have to, they had no choice, if they didn't obey they would starve to death, that's the truth, plus the communists have no regards to human life, they don't care how many soldiers they lost in battle, they just send them to certain death.Things are different on the US and RVN side.

notice they are not using their big guns. There are no american soldiers around at this point in the war. I heard even though they were supplied with big guns and equipment, they were not getting supplied with ammo. So the big guns were useles.
