Thank you for your kindness.

I have the DVD, and can tell you it is stunning. It was recorded in a live performance - I saw Traviata many times, but on this DVD you expierence a "new Violeta". The last act (when she dies) is the most touching, brings tears to your eyes. Angela is a VERY rare singer/actress.

I agree - I've actually heard Lopardo in person and his voice is really nice, even though it's dark.

I don't understand the comments abou Lopardo. I first heard him with Horne in L'Ialiana. He stole the show. The voice was very dark for a tenor but he sang all the high options. The voice was good sized too. I heard him again opposite Battle in La Fille. Again he stole the show. His recording of Idreno (Semiramide)is fabulous, too.
