Why does Walter Becker always look like he wishes he was somewhere else? Would have prefered a live performance over the lip sync. Such a great band up to and including Royal Scam. To bad they collapsed into the lite Jazz morass, But i guess you follow the money trail.

Maybe so, but in that case you'll know as well as I do that it's going to depend upon what artist you are, what your ambitions are and what stage of your career you're at as to whether you attempt to get away with facing down an established producer.JJ Cale will have (for better or worse) been making a career decision when he made that choice.

As a matter of fact J.J. Cale turned down a American Bandstand appearance when he was asked to lypsync . I'm a musician , I understand .

1947Chief, Millie Vanilli happened because it was actually a different artist performing on the album.Cheif, you're not being realistic. I can tell you right now... That when the producer of American Bandstand says you're using a pre-record or you don't play - you play.It's all very nice to have artistic principles, but there is also such a thing as career suicide. Producers have long memories.
