god damn! that thing peeled japan off the earth like an orange peel! i got to shake my head at exasperation at man kind and how great he thinks he is and something like this can come along and wipe us all out overnight! the dinosaurs existed 120 million years, and just like that THEY were wiped out! and by something way smaller than that monstrosity! in the whole of the universe, man is utterly insignificant and the rest of the universe won't cry if we go, "bye bye" to quote vincent van goat!

I would mention the various forms of dating we have... (radio)carbon dating (and other radiometric dating methods), magnetic pole-reversal history, historic earth temperature levels, and the various layers of the earth's crust. But I don't want to turn it into a religious vs. evolutionist debate. I'll believe what I want, you can believe what you want.

The Bible can quite easily be proven wrong regarding the age of the Earth (and I'm pretty sure the time lines created based on biblical passages point to 6,000 years, not 10,000)
