I think he is gay, and I'm a gay man so I certainly don't mean that derogatorily. I love this song, it's so full of pure, joyful energy. It compels me to sing and dance.He's singing in falsetto, he means to sound that way. The Bee Gees might be the most famous modern example of falsetto singing.Beck has done it for camp value in some of his fun songs too, as in "Debra." Though I think Mika has a much stronger voice.
