no actualy. goku never really explained to them how to ascend to super saiyajin 2. only 3. also when un-fused there bodys couldn't take even ascending ssj. even tho gt aint really dbz they tried to keep it right. b/c goku could berely hold ssj3 and he was in the 12 year old body. trunks is 8 so 4 years im sure they couldn't hold the power unfused. also like i siad goku only said push ur power more and ascend, he explained more for ssj3 so ehhh.

it could have took shorter to get 5 blast stocks if u werent doing max power mode all the time, cuz max power mode consumes 1 blast stock

well technicalli he does but you dont see because in the room of time and space after they have finished training goten and trunks talk about how cool it is that there is a level beyond a super saiyan so most likely is that they both reached ssj2 and when they fused together all that power allowed then to completely skip ssj2 and move straight to ssj3 . thats what i believe any way if im wrong and some one can prove it be my guest im open to the real facts.
